Lenovo, don't customs me bro'

So I bought a new T-61 on sale for a great deal (see the 'bulging billfold' site for the deal - 40% off list) and I've been tracking it since this morning.

First of all, I ordered two day shipping last Friday. They say they'll process the order on Monday. Okay.

I see it is coming from China. I guess I kinda knew that but I was hoping they still used the <EDIT:>Guadalajara [strikethrough]Quadalahra[/strikethrough] (Mexico) site. But that's okay I still believe I'll get it soon and it hasn't been two days yet.

But now I see it is in Louisville with the ominous statement, "THE SHIPMENT IS BEING HELD BY BROKERAGE FOR REASONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL." Crap, customs.

Sure enough, if you google that phrase, you'll see lenovo has quite the nasty habit of doing this all the time. Well...they have until Wednesday morning.

everytime someone tells me that they got a great exclusive deal on one, I check it out and it is just an regular sale that they have all the time.

Anyways....I got a T61 from my new job. Its pretty nice.

Also, Lenovo has nothing to do with Customs. If you order laptops that are made to order, but are not shipped in bundles, you will most likely get held up by customs if it is shipped from China.

Yeah, it should add up to 50% off but their math isn't the best. Then I see in the ultra fine print that basically tells me the 25% is the max possible but anything I order, the discount will be less. Mine came around 40% ($1,242 list; $749.75 paid)

I got in on 2 of a similar deal last year + accessories. It was kinda funny cause everything shipped from china - one two days before the other and the accessories a week after i ordered (unfortunately this was after a month of constant pestering over the phone as my order STILL had not shipped yet).
Accessories got the "HELD BY CUSTOMS" - Arrived a week later.
The one that shippd early got the "HELD BY CUSTOMS TAG" while the other went right through. I ended up getting the held by customs one first, then the one that got through 2 days later. It made absolutely no sense at all.
