I have an Antec 1080AMG and my PNY 4400 just barely fit between the edge and the hard drive. I want to upgrade to a new card soon, but need to know if it'll fit. Does anyone know how the PCB sizes compare? Are the ATi cards any shorter?

I think the ATI cards, both 9800 series and the X800 series are about as long as the GF4 Ti4400/4600. The 6800 series is full size which means the card goes almost to the far side of a standard atx mobo. Basically they're freaking huge. The 6800's are definitely the bigger cards.

r3xx and r420 are the same size, both about an inch shorter than the 6800, which is the same length as the gf4.

I guess I'll have to go with the ATi, then, considering the extra length of the power connector sticking off the end. Too bad they can't rotate them 90 degrees to point away from the motherboard instead of parallel to it..

Yeah, the 4400 and 4600 were bigger than the 4200

From an old HardOCP article about the 4200....

It is not as long as the Ti 4400 and the Ti 4600. In fact, it's the same size as a Radeon 8500 and even slightly shorter than our Asus GeForce3 used for comparison. On the last picture, starting in the foreground: NVIDIA Reference GeForce4 Ti 4200, ATI Radeon 8500, Asus 8200 Deluxe GeForce3, Gainward CardExpert Ultra/750XP GeForce4 Ti 4600.

edit: ahh.. that the 4200 is shorter than the 44/4600 would explain it :)

Maybe you have the 128meg version? Are they longer? I know my Ti4200 was a LOT shorter than this 6800GT. I had a PNY 64meg.

edit, not sure how I missed your edit...
