Did you heat it up? Depending on the sugar's makeup, you'll have to heat it to at least 100 degrees C before it will melt.

You can use either superfine sugar or dissolve the sugar in water first to make a simple syrup. Drinks that have a lot of soda or juice as filler the simple syrup method is okay. For a lemon drop using superfine sugar will turn out better.

Just be sure to not chip your nail polish when shaking the "drink".

Yep, and shake well. Never had a problem when doing that.

You're suppose to use a cube of sugar thats not gonna dissolve right away. That's why its called a Lemon Drop. using simple syrup turns it into a vodka sour

I think you're supposed to mix in your mancard, as that is all it's good for at this point.

much easier if you heat 1 part water and dump 1 part (by volume) sugar into it and let it dissolve, then cool to room temp.

according to standard Material Safety Data Sheets, you have to heat the drink up to 320 - 367F in order to melt the sucrose.

Or the fact that it is mixed in a solvent means your aren't melting it.

Superfine sugar will work. Simple syrup adds liquid and changes the drink entirely.
