Leipzig: Heavy Rain for the PS3

video - Stunning gameplay footage.

Well, consider us intrigued. From the creators of Indigo Prophecy (AKA Fahrenheit) comes Heavy Rain, an atmospheric new adventure exclusively for the PlayStation 3. This in-game footage, first unveiled at Leipzig's Games Convention, depicts our finely rendered female protagonist investigating a distinctly unsettling house. Be sure to keep watching until the stunning scene at the end, where she burst out the door and screams to the heavens, "Gotcha, suckas!"

We're sure to learn much, much more as we draw closer to Heavy Rain's forecast 2009 release.

I'm not sure about the actual gameplay though. What is shown here looks like a variation on the interactive cut-scenes we saw in Heavenly Sword and other games. Interested to see more about it though.

Game looks amazing. Now... wonder what the game is actually going to be like, aside from featuring at least one interactive cutscene. Wonder what the story is actually about. It's supposed to... like, blow all other games out of the water in terms of character's emotions and believability.

the date shoulda said 2009? with a question mark, because i'm sure this game will get delayed like all of sony's hype games 😛

looks cool though graphically although it seems the game is going to focus on those types of interactive scenes.

Yep, I was thinking of the Bourne Identity game while I watched this trailer.

Yeah, I can almost bet the game will definitely focus on them versus regular gameplay. It's not an action title, at least, I wouldn't expect that from the developer. It's going to be more of an interactive adventure title that focuses much more on real character development than anything. Which doesn't bother me. Seeing a very well produced adventure title is a breath of fresh air.

I expect it to be a modern Myst game. It'll feature puzzles and interactive scenes, mostly as a true interactive movie. People complained about Metal Gear Solid 4 being an interactive movie? What are they going to refer to this game as? lol

Yay a tonne more quick-time button pushing. Can hardly wait.

They put me in mind of the old Dragon's Lair. I can't say I'm a big fan either. It was acceptable for DL because the game looked so great compared to everything else, and wouldn't have worked any other way.

Spot on about DL. Such a classic and was truly the only way it could have worked back then.

Heck I didn't mind these quick-time things when I played the first God of War, but now I just feel as if they are overused and are actually starting to detract from gameplay.

shenmue was the first time I really noticed the use of button pressing events, then re4, then gow and a million other games.
