I didn't mean pricetag
I meant in insane coolness.
The $500 Falcon has been around for nearly a year now.

dear Lord, that's awesome.

but $400... their margins must be through the roof. $400. nevermind all the other sets i've bought my son when he was younger.

Me and my assumptions.

You're definitely right on the coolness front.

Actually its not. Pretty standard for legos. Generally speaking its $.10 per piece. This thing has 3,800 pieces so $400 is right in the ball park.

That thermal exhaust port looks much smaller than a womp rat. ;)

Hours of fun to put together. Can be destroyed by the average two year old in 10 seconds flat. ;)

Not to long ago me and my (soon 7yr old) son went on a mission to rebuild ALL of his sets. He has a ton as this is the only thing he's gotten for Birthdays, holidays etc for the past 3 years. took me (note I said ME) days and days and days to do it. But I did it. Every last freaking set, down to the brick.

1 week later? 90% destroyed :)

My 5-year old (at the time) son got a B-Wing fighter for Christmas. It took about 4 hours for the two of us to put it together (mostly because of me having him put it together). When we were done, I handed it to him and said, "Go show Mommy!" He ran up the stairs and then I heard a large crash and an 'Uh Oh'.

I can't wait for my son to be old enough for Legos - my (4-year old) daughter isn't really interested in them.

I don't know why, but Legos seemed to stay together better when I was a kid. These sets my son and I have built together come apart at the slightest breeze.

I guess I never really browsed to those - she's totally princess-obsessed (like 99% of the girls her age) so they might fly; I'll take a look. As long as they're build-intensive, I'd be into buying them for her.

In a related note, I just got a spirograph for her over the weekend - while the current implementation is more 'kiddie' than I had when I was young, it's still pretty neat and she's into it.

Legos are such a great learning toy.

Ditto mine. My wife put one of those nets or whatever you call it that hangs from the ceiling and drapes around the bed on my daughter's bed. Now my daughter refers to her bed as 'her castle'.

The Spirograph is a fantastic idea. We got a Doodle-Doug as a gift but something where they actually do the drawing is much better.

LOL my daughter has one of those things coming on Sunday at her birthday party (joint family party since both their BDays are so close together)

Seems all 3-7 year old girls are nearly identical.
Playdates anyone?
