Very cool. I used to love Legos... I have quite a lot in some containers somewhere.

Yeah this would have been a dream when I was a kid...

Definitely. I was the kid tearing apart all of the big pre-designed models to make my own. :p

They are missing 98 % of bricks they use to make on that page. If they had all of them I would be in heaven as I could rebuild a few of my old Lego space models that are missing pieces .

LEGOs were awesome. The pick-a-brick would have been great for any number of reasons - whether to build you own awesome creation, or just to easily replace lost piece.

Good point. There are A LOT of pieces that I would like to see them offer, mainly from all the space sets... wings, windows, engines, etc.

They did this with KNEX at various science centers...you would build whatever you wanted, then they would weight it out and price it for you. It was awesome, I loved this when I was a kid.

The space and pirates sets were the best. The other sets that came afterwards were never as exciting. That's a shame though that they don't sell those older pieces.

I still have all of my space sets, but I am missing a few pieces. Don't see the ones I need on there, but perhaps they will expand their selection.

I remember the KNEX area at MOSI here in Tampa as a little kid in 2nd or 3rd grade. That was some FUN stuff.

I enjoyed the floating ships, I lost many a Lego to the pool filter ;)
I had the large red floating fireboat with the helicopter, I turned it into some large cargo thing that could go into the water, and made a makeshift oil rig with a smaller floating hull and the red support beams from a space shuttle set - I used to have fun sinking them, until the filter stole pieces but that didn't deter me :D

I loved the airplane ones too

I like starwars as much as the next guy but I just love the old space sets from 80S-90S
If they ever came back with cool original space races again like Spyrius or ice planet I would buy them up in less then a day. I feel that using Starwars as the only space theme took away the creativity and innovation. When is the last time you saw a decoder or magnet in a starwars set.

Spyrius? Ice Planet? That must have been after my time, there were no such things with my original space Lego.

Lego sets after 1987 had different themed races. Basically you could fight wars with different factions. I only have one of the old pre themed space sets myself. I remember my first Lego set was an M-tron when I was 10.

I wish they had this back when I was kid. I still have 3 huge tubes full of Legos. I can't wait to pass them down to my kids, and play with them myself.

Actually, there used to be mailer cards and catalogues with the old Space Lego sets where you could order extra parts, too. I believe I have some extra engine and wing parts, as well as a whole stack of the Crater landscape Lego plates.

Where are all the people? As in, the little lego people, I wouldn't mind ordering a bunch of those if they were cheap.

I remember my old Space Police sets.

When I was 5 or 6, my grandparents brought me back a Special Edition Lego Castle set from England. This was way before they had the themed sets with the wizards and dragons. The Knights all had real British coat of arms on their bodies and shields. The castle also opened up on a hinge.
