LEGO: Indiana Jones will support 4 player co-op

Update: Link - MTV's Multiplayer Blog posts a retraction stating that 4 player co-op was a miscommunication and that the game will keep the same mechanics of LEGO: Star Wars where you have 2 player co-op and up to 4 playable characters on the screen at one time.

Some other things I picked up:

* I learned that even though the game?s puzzles will never be designed for more than two characters that, on the console versions, up to four players will be able to run through levels together.

* I was told that the Wii game will have motion-triggered bull-whipping. When I asked if it would function the same as the lightsaber-swinging did in the Wii version of ?LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga or if it would offer 1:1 remote-to-whip synchronized control, the producers said to expect something akin to the ?Star Wars? interface.

* The console versions of the ?Indy? game are being made by the same team at Traveller?s Tales that did the ?Star Wars? games; it?s a different team that?s doing ?LEGO Batman.?

* I was told not to worry about reports that the Nazis have been removed form the LEGO version of the trilogy. The plot will stay intact; the bad guys just won?t wear swastikas.

* I was only shown the Xbox 360 version of the game, but PC, PS2, PS3, and Wii versions are al slated for June 3 2008. So are DS and PSP versions. I didn?t learn much about them except that the DS stylus will handle whipping and that the microphone will be used for blowing up rafts (in a ?Temple of Doom? scene, I presume) and blowing out torches. Oh, and you?ll be able to control the ?Raiders? monkey in the DS game.

* Lastly, they?re saying that the game is only about the original trilogy. So no references to the new movie, even though it comes out a week after it? They?re saying no.

Ok, I'm wondering what other characters you would be playing in 4-player co-op?

I can see Indy and the Alfred Molina character in the opening of Raiders but....who else?

Indy and Marion through parts and...who else?

Indy and Salla through parts of Raiders and...who else?

Sherpas?

Temple of Doom would be Short Round and Willie....and who else?

Last Crusade would probably have the largest cast of secondary characters to choose from - Jones Sr, Sallah, Brody, and the female Nazi doctor for a while.

Oh come on now....

In the Star Wars games, you can play as whoever else you want that you've unlocked as long as you keep one specific character in your group. I'm guessing its the same way in Lego Jones.

Right, but when you were playing through the game the first time you used the characters that were relevant to that chapter of the movie. Opening scene from Star Wars - you played Princess Leia and the ship's Captain (forget his name). You then added C-3PO and R2-D2.

With Indiana Jones, how would you start out the opening with Indy going into the temple in a 4-player co-op game? Indy, the Alfred Molina character...that dies, and?

How about in the part where Indy and Marion are in the tomb of the Ark in a 4-player co-op game? What other two characters would be added when playing through the first time.

I'm probably seriously over-thinking this. 😀

Maybe 4-player co-op will only be available after you've unlocked the levels?

I'm actually quite excited about this game. I've been having a blast so far with LEGO: Star Wars - The Complete Saga for my Wii.

Can someone clarify this for me? I haven't played Lego Star Wars on the Wii. What is it like using the wiimote to control the lightsaber? This statement appears to say that it will not be as nice as it could have been.

The Swastika is illegal in Germany and several other countries, probably the reason for this. Just curious if it's going to affect the U.S. version ...
