LEGIT Quake 4 cd key doesn't work..

Hmm.. I entered my CD-Key when loading the game which worked great for the install..

I then start the game for the first time, and it asks for the key again, no problem..

I go to enter the key xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx but the last set up numbers dont fit..

So i try without the " - " and it still doesnt work?!?!

What gives?

That happened to me when I stole the game, too.
I had to uninstall, clean up the tracks, reinstall, and disconnect from the intersne before I could steal it properly.

I have the retail box if you would really like a picture...

why would the key work when I load the game, but wont even allow me past the menu to PLAY the game..

Or more so, why does it ask twice ( which is no big deal ) if it worked the second time..

and do you use Dashes, or no dashes?

If the Bengals were smart, they would blow the game against the Chiefs, because they don't want to play the steelers in the first round!

the only thing I can think of is that it wants a different key, meaning an activiation code also...are there any other codes? did you try google or quake 4's web site, maybe this is common, i'll check for you...

I would try uninstalling and install it again...disconnceted from the internet?


EDIT: After a cursory check I didn't find anything, but you might want to try here

the game never asked me twice for my key. it asked during the install and that is it.
