XP Pro Corporate installed, no CD or documentation provided. At a yard sale, hesitated to puchase and someone grabbed it.

Was wondering what will happen if one uses unlicensed, or worse, software?

They would be in violation of the EULA and therefore breaking the law (pirating the software).

If they used the FCKGW- code everyone downloaded, then they won't be able to install SP1 or higher unless they change the code.

I realize it's illegal.

Was wondering how someone else would know and what happens?

Absolutely nothing. There is no BB. Yes, people are watching, but not you.

I will not say anymore on the grounds that it could serve to incriminate me...

I thought they actually reversed that code. I believe it was on the grounds that M$ could not purposely let unpatched machines be on the internet and infect other machines. Maybe I am confused.
