Legend of Grimlock worth $7.50?

GOG has it for half price, it worth picking up?

I liked old dungeon crawlers, but also know that that design type was because of computer limitations. While I wax poetic and get nostalgic sometimes, old styles do not necessarily carry over well into the modern day.

I'm tempted at the price, but not sure how well that gameplay holds up to more modern RPGs. What ya think?

We have a pretty comprehensive thread about the game here: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2230186

I'm interested in picking it up but Steam may come out with this as a daily deal in a week or so with a comparable price (potentially cheaper?).

First, there's no guarantee of it going in the Steam sale, and second, the game is worth not trying to get a price below $7.50. Reward them for making a good game. That's cheap.

I think the game should be $30. It is one of the best games I have played in years.

($30 is pretty much the price point that I feel new games are worth. I don't usually buy them for more than that.)

game is definitely worth it.

Okay guys. After reading all your comments I decided to skip lunch today and dedicate my lunch money for this game. Thanks 😀

Everything I have read about the game suggests that it is clearly worth the (half) price listed.

Just be aware of what you are buying. This isn't a fully realized 3D free look game like Skyrim. It is more a classic old school dungeon adventure on the order of Eye of the Beholder (but with better graphics).

another who says its worth Full price.. You almost cant find a "bad" review of the game.. its nothing new, but its old ideas done well (blizzard has made a living doing this for years!). The only part i dont like is the no replay really.. no all priest , solo, all tank parties.. like the good old days of Wizardry, EOB, Bards tale.

Went ahead and picked it up. It's kinda sad, in the thread on Slickdeals, someone was saying they hope it's available on Steam for that price soon. I mean really, someone would prefer a DRM copy instead of a DRM free one from GOG?

I haven't played it, just fired it up to tinker.

Why is this sad? Why would anyone be sad about the Steam acheivements that come with the game? Or Steam's cloud sync feature? Or Steam's auto-patching of the game? Or Steam's ability to chat with friends in-game? Those are all things that make buying the game through Steam more attractive than getting it through gog and other places.

Those first two criteria are only for games with Steamworks DRM, which is not the case for most games on Steam. Of course, Legend of Grimrock is such a game.
