Legally avoid income taxes??

I saw the commercial for it last night, but I was running out the door at the moment. Some woman was legally not paying her income tax. Did any happen to catch this show and find out what that was all about? I'm really curious.

BTW, i DID google, but I could only check a limited number of sources through my proxy. 😀

Also, so this thread is not just on the show, once we find out what it was all about, what do you think about the whole deal? I mean, if it's really legit, would you try it?

sure fire way: be the boss of an oil drilling company and hope that armageddon is coming. Sooner or later, NASA is bound to ask you to help drop a nuclear missile in the center of the asteroid and then you can ask that you never pay taxes again 🙂 At least it worked on the silver screen 😛

No. The IRS will confiscate everything you own, auction it off, pocket the money, and send you to jail for 85 years. Just like they are going to do to that woman you heard about.

Unless and until the 16th Amendment to the Constitution is appealed, there is no way you can legally avoid paying income taxes if you have a tax liability in a given year. You may not need to pay income taxes in any given year (low income, investment losses, etc) but those cases are going to be relatively uncommon and always a year-to-year occurence, never a permanent condition.

But didn't you know? The 16th amendment is illegal, was never ratified properly and doesn't have to be followed.

I didn't watch 20/20.

I imagine it was something like this.

Busted For Bad Tax Advice
(CBS) An anti-tax activist who allegedly once boasted she had never paid income taxes was arrested Monday on charges of promoting bogus tax shelters and encouraging the filing of phony returns

I took a call @ work from some lunatic one day that preached that garbage.
He thought he was a financial wiz, guess he never heard of AL Capone.
I kept thnking

BAD BOY BAD BOY

"What'cha gonna do, whatcha' gonna do when DE TAX man come FO U?"

The law states that you have to pay taxes on earned income, so if you don't earn any income you don't have to pay taxes.

I saw it on NBC Nightly News a few days ago. They did not say what or how she did it but they said that she holds seminars now which tells other people how to do it.

that was part of her argument. she never earned any income. she traded her services for money.

she had a nice place a few nice cars and made like 6million last year. but had no income. heh

i think i read at the Register last year that Microsoft, through some slick investments got out of taxes somehow....but anyone saying they traded their services for money and skips on taxes is gonna get it in the @ss from the IRS

Sure fire way is not to work ...But id rather work and live in the most prosperous country on the planet which is partially that way cause we have taxes. W/O a huge collective fund to build up (military, roads etc) we would be third world. I know they want all the benefits of living here without the cost to bad so sad... TANSTAAFL.
