Legality of poising food at work?

If someone at work has been stealing food, what are the laws if I bought in a food item, and I laced it with cyanide? Since they are stealing my food, I am not actually poisoning them, they are poisoning themselves by taking eating what wasn't theirs.

Note: Someone is stealing food, but I am not actually going to do this, just wondered about the legality?

If you knowingly poison the food you'll be in deep shit. Despite what it may seem, there are better ways to handle this.
