legality of giving out employee information?

so a city employee called regarding a community meeting and asked for the owners telephone number. i told him that i wasn't at liberty to provide him with that information, but that if he left a message i could forward it to the owner.

he then asked if i knew who he was - like i really give a damn.

if i understood english - born and raised in california, and i don't speak ebonics.

and then he asked for my first and last name to file a report against me - 😕

isn't it illegal to give out personal information regarding an employee (or empoyer), or even information on when someone's next shift is?

can't the city do a better job of hiring qualified individuals? i mean the pay is actually not that bad, there's usually benefits for full timers, and a pension as well, right?

cliffs: city of los angeles pays it's employees more than they deserve.

Its generaly wrong to give out personal information of anyone without notification. Dont know about the leagality situation.

You should file a Public Records Access request for all documents pertaining to why he is such a giant dick.

ask him if he got the memo regarding distribution of employee information, tell him it was a footnote on the TPS Reports memo.
