Good plan huh?
That would work, except that your speed is written down, and he'll have likely "refreshed" before any trial. Coke is irrelivant, since the speed you were doing was previously recorded.

Thats not the point though, the point is that it might put some doubt in the minds of the jury.[/quote]

My god! This is traffic court. There is no jury.

A jury and courts + lawyers, .... is just not remotely worth the effort and cost when dealing with little traffic infringements. A lawyer?s fee alone would most likely be higher than the ticket. Also, if your record is fairly clean, a judge will rarely ever assign points and raise a person's insurance.

Edit: (didn't read every post before writing...) Well, I guess I'm wrong. If you can have a jury, disregard what I just said.

I still think a jury is overkill for traffic offenses. Being out a bit of money doesn't seem worth all the time and effort it takes to fight the charge, gather a jury, hold trials.........

Well, do what you like. It's your right to do so.

I do think you're making too much of this. Is it really worth your time and effort to pay the ticket in pennies? To me, that seems like too much to deal with. Also, if you're charged for 86mph, do go to court and argue that your speed was not measured correctly. This is your right and totaly justifiable.

But to pay a fee in pennies seems a bit dumb to me. Is it really worth your time and trouble just to spite those who charged you? Those who judged your speed incorrectly will not be the ones counting these pennies. Some poor minimum wage workers will be the ones taking your payment and counting all those pennies.

Any ways. You have every right to fight this and/or pay this any way legally possible, but I think you're better off trying you luck in court, then paying up if ordered. This whole penny thing will serve no purpose other than causing others and you more trouble.

That was the point, also most government workers make double minimum wage and beyond. I can't say I have ever scene a gov. job posting here for less than close to $9/hr. I am not saying that is much better than min. wage, but not bad to count pennies for.
