legal question

If you consume a drug in a foreign country where it is legal (say, Amsterdam) and are tested in the United States, could you or should you lose your job?

What if you visited months ago, got a new job, and had to be tested before being hired.

sounds pretty rude that one could get denied for doing someting legal

In that case, I think I'd agree with you.

You cannot be charged with a crime, because the US, State, County, Town does not have jurisdiction.

It would be a probation violation, or terms of firing, because it is a CONDITION of probation or employment.

This falls under the "Life is not Fair" umbrella.

...Except for the fact that past drug users have a proven proclivity for using drugs again. You are an employment risk, and your prospective employer has every right not to hire a risk.
