legal question on a Win7 upgrade

This whole situation would have been avoided if I had downloaded the 32bit RC, but unfortunately I didn't. I have a laptop that came with XP on it, and has gotten buggy to the point of needing a reinstall now. It is old (pentium-M) so I plan on replacing it once Intel launches the Arrandale processors. I ordered a Win7 upgrade for $50 during the summer, if I use it on this laptop is it tied to that machine for good, or can I later take it off the laptop and use it to upgrade my desktop (which is currently using the 64bit RC)?

Since it's a Retail Upgrade, you can move the Upgrade to any PC that has a qualifying license for a previous operating system.
