Legacy free on an Intel i845E chassis...Abit IT7 Review

More and more legacy-free happening... I'm gonna' need to buy ALLlllllllll new components someday not too far off. 🙁

i figure by the time i actually feel like upgrading i wont' want any of my current components anyway...except maybe this slick ass keyboard of mine...too bad it's ps2, and i aint paying out my ass for a ps2 to usb dongle for it.

this board looks ok...not a fan of Abit, so i'd rather wait for some other mobo makers to come out w/ something similar down the road.

Looks good, but I wonder if it will suffer the same cold-boot problems that the BD7 suffered. I know he said that it worked fine but sometimes these problems don't come out right away.

Either way I'm glad I held out for the 845E/850E chipsets before I took the plunge and bought myself a P4. It will be nice to have a board with native USB2.0 support and official 133mhz support (without extra add-ons and overclocking).

considering I already disable my serial and parrallel ports, I am looking foward to legacy free mb from everyone.

Leaving others to buy $50 USB-to-Parallel printer cables.... 🙁 I hope Legacy products stick around as well as the new legacy-free.

you know this has been solved with the latest bios, right? It was not a abit only problem.
The board itself is good, the problem is it is going to be expensive..

Could you imagine an enthusiasts board like the IT7/AT7, but with an SMP chipset? W I C K E D. Too bad SMP is too expensive to be considered "normal" these days, but we're working on it.
