Legacy FPS gamepad layout

Am I the only person who was raised on the N64 GoldenEye for console FPS? I instinctively want to use that kind of layout, where you move back forward/look left right on the left analog and then have the look up down/strafe left right on the right analog. But they dont' even give you the option to change those settings on ANYTHING anymore. The first one I saw the problem on the Unreal Championship 2 for the Xbox. Now Oblivion doesn't let you change it out. I am just having to force myself to learn the new layout. Doesn't this bother anyone else?
