All sources I see seem to put L4D's release date between 11/4 & 11/16.
Two month is short!
I'm getting anxious now. It appears to me that Valve is going to make this a huge release. Graphically L4D seems similar to CS:S & TF2 so I'm sure much of Valves efforts have been on perfecting the gameplay.
Zombie perspective.

Anyone know how many people will be allowed to play the zombie class in addition to the 5(I think) humans?

Also anyone know if there will be a friendly fire option? Imo this would be the only way to play for maximum realism.

For those of you not familiar with Left4Dead.

It was scheduled to be released on Nov. 4th, but has been delayed till the 18th for the US, and the 21st for Europe.

Waiting for a demo. It sounds as if I'll need to listen to music while playing this, as all of that zombie belching was kind of getting on my nerves.

I don't believe there will be a demo, at least not on pc. I don't remember one for CS:S or TF2. It's likely they'll do the occasional free weekend instead.

I'm in line for this game. Really liked Dead Rising but something with a bit more suspense and action will be even more fun.

Dead rising on pc? I was under the impression that it was console exclusive.

The CS:S engine is top notch. I should think the gameplay from L4D will top even the most accurate shooters.

You get the point. Thankfully it's using the CS:S engine so it is likely that it will be perfect.

Is there a reason for which it is reasonable to doubt that he has an 360? I don't even understand why you had to ask this question.

I also don't understand what you mean by accurate shooters. Do you mean the realism of games or the guns?

L4D, like TF2, is just the multiplayer FPS genre moving forward away from the traditional "shoot things and win by kill count". They're based on teamwork and objective-based gameplay and incorporating gameplay devices not normally found in a FPS. We used to have RtCW and stuff like that but progress kind of stagnated after BF2.

Honestly I don't mean to diss consoles. One must play CS or other similar titles to comprehend what I mean. Once you get used to CS:S all other shooters feel like childs play.
A good shooter can track a 60fps mouse.

Quake Wars?

I believe Quake Wars will also be close to perfect.
I think Valve has been doing much the same thing with Left4Dead.
Obviously more than a browser will be required however.

You're thinking of Quake Live. Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a class-based game similar to BF2... that's what nakedfrog was referring to.

As for the OP, humans and boss zombies have a maximum of 4 players each; normal zombies are AI. Friendly Fire is always on from what I've read.

Thanks for the correction. yes "Quake Live".
Also I was under the impression that there could be at least 8 "human" zombies.
Sorry can't back it up with any data.
