I don't want to ruin your day here, and I know I made a flip comment before, but you've got a big problem on your hands now.
The advice you got to remove the carpeting was a good one. It truly should be stripped down to the floorboards and thoroughly dried. Below the carpet is a layer or multiple layers of insulation. That stuff is like a sponge. You asked about it getting stinky, well yes, it's going to get stinky if you don't do anything.
Any wiring connectors that got soaked need to get dried out almost immediately to keep corrosion from forming. You'll be fighting electrical gremlins from now until the car leaves your possession.
