Hi so basically, I just completed updating my motherboard to a Z97 Gaming 7 and my processor to an I7-4790K, I had no problem with the installation everything went smooth and its all running perfectly fine, so after installing all the drivers from the disk in the package with my motherboard i plugged in my Razer Tiamat 7.1 surround sound headset and was about to listen to some music, this is where all the trouble began it downloaded a sound blaster cinema driver and updated my current realtek Hd audio driver but all the sounds were completely messed up except for a few the back left and right, and the side left and right.

so after making sure I plugged everything in correctly i tried again and it still didn't work when looking at the relatek HD audio manager i saw what I assume are different profile saves labeled "A,B,C,D" so I clicked on B,C and D and suddenly all my sound was working perfectly.. so I thought my troubles was over, but now I am encountering a new issue.

For some reason the front sound speaker, seems to be stronger to the left than to the right, and the front right speaker has a little static discharge at the very start of the sound testing but disappears very quickly and hardly noticeable.

soo basically I'm asking for help, I'm not an expect at sound but I've fiddled around enough to make sure the jacks are plugged in properly the sound setup is working properly, and my motherboard is all hooked up properly, What could be the issue? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, and only earlier were my headset working perfectly fine on my old motherboard (some asus Z something or another brand).

Has anyone encountered an issue and know a reason why this has happened? I haven't got a second spare 7.1 surround sound headset laying around so I cannot do any checks with a second headset to see if it is mine nor do any of my friends have one i could borrow

Are you using the rear jack or front? It could be a wiring issue if its a front jack. If its rear jack then its definitely not any sort of wiring issue.

Have you tried another set of speakers? Just to make sure its not your speakers that's messing up?

Lastly, have you changed the sound option to 2.1 or 2.0 in the sound card's control panel?

If you have done all the above then its definitely bad mobo, get it replaced.

Yeah I've tried both front and back jacks, as I said the front ones are much worse than the back ones, but the back ones are just as bad, yes I have tried 2.1/2.0 but I still get sound issues with that aswell. So I guess the mobo is fucked.. mega disappointed 2 weeks waste for nothing! not to mention 2 hrs of my life wasted rebuilding my computer (went OTT on it, cus i didn't wanna break anything so was super careful) thanks for the advise anyways :)
