Not bad if you want to buy at a retail store, you can buy on eBay though and get cheaper like around $24 or so I've seen alot of auctions end at.

Pretty hot deal considering it is $50 straight from Steam. I was hoping for a half-off sale like last time ($25 from Steam) but I may have to settle on this. Already have it, but am wanting a second copy.

EDIT: Next update for Xbox will be end of April, and PC version may be somewhere near that. Doesn't Valve often discount games around when they are updated? Seems like they do so with TF2 and the $25 deal on Steam was just after the last update in January.

Yep yep. Big update supposed to hit before the 21st of April. Will probably be a 50% deal then too.

Pretty nice deal if you didn't get in on the 50% off sale a few months ago. Sadly I haven't had a chance to put much time into this game, way too many other games log jammed ahead of it. Plus I cant get over the fact Steam's voice comms don't allow you to choose separate output sources!

Lucky bastard. At least you have friends. :(

sunny D, would you like to be friends?

Do you have to have 4 players to play? Or could 2 people play and have fun?

2 is fine. Having someone else you know makes the game 100x more fun than playing with random people.

It's a dice toss every time if the random people you're playing with make the game fun or obnoxious

I love playing with random people personally, I play with friends a lot too, but random people make the game more random, you never know how someone is going to react to a situation when you play with strangers.

If I'm playing TF2 or a more structured game, yeah, I want people I know I can count on. L4D is usually just as fun when one dude screws the pooch and gets everyone kills as when we all make it. It gives it a more cinematic, seat of your pants feel when you don't know who's going to stick with the group and who's going to double back trying to grab that extra pipebomb only to get smoked in an area where the rest of us can't reach him.

True, the randomization is very cool for the actual game play. I'm more referring to people who get their "fun" from berating other players or just generally acting like 12 year old jackasses. That kind of stuff gets old pretty quick...

For those of you wondering about how the CD works with steam... after you install it the first time, you could trash the CD if you wanted to. All reinstalls can be done thereforth from steam.

I've been playing the Unreal Tournament series almost exclusively since 1999. L4D was the only game that finally pulled me away it. Get this game!

Agreed, having at least 1 regular you normally play with is definitely more enjoyable. Then again, I also get a kick out of these young 20-somethings who try to over-control your team's strategy, then end up getting mauled and needing constant rescue, only to finally rage quit when they reach the boiling point. LOL

this also brightens my day. also in cases when the opposing team has a good round, complete with GGs, pwneds, etc. and make a big deal about ragers from my own team, then turn around and rage themselves later. i only wish after they left it was still possible/easier to msg them with some shit talking :D

I have been creating a new steam account when I buy a single player game. Don't sell my used games, but like to give games to friends and relatives.

Gogamer has been great for older A list games at bargain prices, and you get the games in a box.
