Left 4 Dead 2 - How intense?

I played through the demo of L4D2. I had a great time.. a very exciting game to say the least. that was my first experience with the L4D series.

I'm not really into "scary" games. Is the full version of L4D2 any more scary or intense than the demo? I found the demo to be very intense but still fun for me... maybe because I was fighting alongside the computer controlled characters.

Umm. "Intense". Its the same as L4D1 really.... Except the daytime maps are definitely less intense than nighttime.

Much more intense the first campaign has you going through a burning building with tons of smoke so you can barely see the infected. Opening a smoking door cause a burst of fire that burns you and the ceiling is falling down around you. There there is the storms causing flooding etc. Overall its much more intense than the original l4d

Yep, much more intense. The new Special Infected add a whole new element, as well as better maps.

Except, like said, the daylight scenes. This is why the demo sucked imo.

Dead Center with the burning hotel and Hard Rain with the massive rain storms are both incredibly awesome experiences

Is it worth it for the multiplayer alone? I love playing TF2, but am looking for a nice change of pace.

I was playing in Dark Carnival and a "Charger" knocked me off the roof of a building, sailing about 300' from my team and proceeded to pound me into hamburger, not only was I shoved far away, I was behind a semi tractor trailer.
Much more intense than the first and you definitely need to play as a team.

In my opinion, online versus mode is the primary reason you buy the L4D series. Co-op is amazing, provided you have a good team and gel together. Most of us who have been playing L4D awhile now play with regulars we know. But don't worry if you're a noob. Be polite, shadow your team close, and play conservative until you learn the ropes.

I've only had a couple of hours in, but it's a madhouse compared to the first one. Constant mobs, crazy awesome violin crescendos, and one more than one occasion we've been pummeled by 2 special infected at once.

The game feels A LOT more open as well, especially the swamp levels. I don't think the daytime sections take away from the game at all personally, it still gets insane, more so actually, the AI director has gone from a smooth deliberate attack on you to just a brute pile on most of the time to make sure you go down and you stay down.

I'm lovin' it.

I can confirm this. People would downplaying the demo because they thought it was too easy. The full campaigns are brutal. I like the variety with daytime and nighttime levels, and the visibility-reducing smoke and rain effects amp it up even more.

Crazy intense compared with the first one. Campaigns and in versus mode, theres a lot more zombies, theres more hordes, but theres melee weapons which are excellent vs hordes so it balances out.

I loved bashing the hordes with the guitar. the machete was fun too.
