I purchased a 4port Fanbus from frozencpu in January. When I installed this I noticed that the second LED was very dim (when set to high). After 2 days It went dark. Now it?s been over a month and three high led?s are not working. I looked at the device and don?t see anything wrong. The fans work on HIGH and LOW. The LOW setting?s LEDs work fine. I reset the wires and no go. HELP!

I contacted frozencpu and I?m told that I must send the defective device back to them before a replacement can be sent to me. So for that timeframe (at least 2 weeks I?m sure) I can?t use my fans because I cut the wires to connect to the fanbus. In reality I?m going to have to unclock everything because my Video Card and CPU need the case to be cooled to run overclocked. Frozencpu your getting a negative review from me! :disgust:

That sounds like a real pain just for a single LED failure (I thought LEDs were supposed to last for many years of use). I think they should offer to cross ship the product since it's somewhat critical to your system's operation. As far as cutting wires, this is one fo the reason I waited for "name brand" rheobuses to come on the market. I never felt the idea of slashing my fan's power cables was a good one. My Vantec Fan Controller has been working nicely for some time and doesn't require me to cut anything.

Ask them if they would send you a replacement if you left them your credit card number to guarantee you send the defective one back.

I had a 6 port baybus similar to that. It is a pain to cut the fan wires to make them work with it. Now I use a sunbeam 4 port rhoebus. Much better. Variable speed control too. :)

btw, the owner of frozencpu is banned from this forum and others for questionable trading and a foul attitude.

Thanks...I got an email from the owner last night. He wants me to call so we can setup a cross ship. Purchase new product, return defective for credit.

Do you think I got a defective product or does this happen with these things?

Blade...thanks for the info. -JC

It happens with them. Many including me had problems with the vantec fan controller. Could be just low quality leds on the one you received. If that's the case then the leds may not last long on the replacement.

Got my replacement (crosship) from them yesterday. It seems to be working great. The led's look different so that might be a plus.
