LED laptops: Buy now or wait till the next generation?

LED laptops are popping up all over the place.

Usually i skip the 1st generation of anything (ie: version 1.0).

Is this true of LED laptops? Stick with LCD for better bang/buck?

And when will tne next gen of LED laptops come out?
 
LCD screens backlit by LED's work well now, there's no need to wait, and extended battery life is but one bonus. I am not aware of any actual LED screens, as your third sentence seems to imply.
 
In many cases we are already past 1st generation. Lenovo has LED options for several models. An LED is not "bang for the buck" but best technology available for performance and durability.
