Sadly I have never seen an LED case fan in operation in person, so I don't understand if you really see the light from them if the room is lit as well by either daylight or a standard overhead light-bulb.

Kinda lame question, I know. But I couldn't seem to find the answer anywhere else.

Well consider this? For the most part your case is in theroy, its own little room as far as light goes yes? So then it would seem that the lights are NOT on in that room.. I am not trying to sound like I am talking down to you just trying to help. So the answer is this... the lights are not as noticable in a room with the lights on but you can see them because they not only light up but they also light up the things around them(in the case) if you have uv lights and uv stuff it glows really well..

Okay, here you go. I didn't know the name of your machine, so I thought of something real quick. I'm keeping this pic if you don't mind.

There is one definite downside to having case lights like that:

It really ruins the ambiance when you are trying to play Doom3 in the dark and you are still bathed in the bright blue light.

Um, I mean when you're trying to fill customer orders in the dark... yea... :)

depends on the case. depends on hole open the vents are. depends on the fan, some are bright, others dim. there are even ones that are uv wih attached uv cathode tube..those are bright. heck, if you want bright just get a cold cathode tube.

The blue glow is still there, but its just not illuminating anything else in the room.

It still makes the fans look awesome, sort of a smoky effect as they rotate, but the non-moving blue lights (such as my CPU heatsink) is rather wasted in the typical daylight.

As long as you dont have huge ugly fan grills, the fans look cool. My case is under my desk, so it's generally in shade, and it looks good. Looks even better at night.

Hey, has anyone used the new silenX illuminated fans?

Btw. I have normal lighted fans... they don't do jack in the day time. But cold cathodes'll aluminate well in the daytime, but defiantely not normal lights (not sure what the hame of it is)

Alcohol is flammable, but there aren't any sparks in there and it looks like a closed system. If he is using it for a cooling solvent, it shouldn't combust as long as the system stays sealed and the solvent has better latent heat characteristics that water so it will work better as well.

* Don't cook yourself with an exploding computer and then come back to me and complain though!

The name you are looking for is LED lights. (Unless you mean the UV reactive ones)
