Lebron snags 3rd mvp trophy...3/3

Miramonti

Against high school all-americans, the best of the best...again!

story

James, in what is expected to be his final game as an amateur, scored 34 points and won an unprecedented third major high-school All-Star game MVP, but his Black team lost to the Silver 107-102 in Thursday's Capital Classic.

Displaying a few moves perfected by Jordan -- the windmill dunk, the lean-in pump fake to draw a foul -- James made 13 of 30 shots and had 12 rebounds and six assists in 34 minutes, the most playing time of any player. His 34 points were the second most ever scored in the 30-year history of the Classic, behind Louis Bullock's 40 in 1995.

Ok, everyone knows that he is a man among boys in the HS level. But it'll be interesting to see him play among men in the NBA who will give him some real competition.

Getting these mvp's definitely make the hype more convincing. The top hs all-americans are definitely no slouches. Kobe, Tmac, and Garnet made the jump to the pros and are the top nba mvp candidates this year along with duncan. And they never faired this well against high school peers.

He'll most likely go #1 simply for the fact that he can bring in the most revenue out of the top 3 (Darko and Carmelo...asuming that Lebron and Carmelo go pro). I honestly would pick Carmelo or Darko ahead of Lebron...but then again, I'm no Basketball GM.

Prolly pick on him in the locker room then hes gonna go crazy and get his ass kicked.

we can all criticize and speculate, but I just can't wait til we finally know where he's going and makes his first step onto the court...gonna be great. 🙂

Like someone said, the revenue he'll bring in more then justifies the risk that many people think comes with drafting such a hyped player

I think a Boz would fit your suggestion better (even if you're wrong 😉)...boz was all hype but leaf was hype plus a destructive alcoholic to boot.

I'd take james over anthony...anthony looked great in the tournament but I don't like the way everyone's jumped on his bandwagon and how he's suddenly thought of as the best player in college now but not before the tournament...I think he's overrated at this point. One can't forget how pervis ellison in '86 had a great final four too....

Anthony is definitely overrated. Warrick was the key player during the tournament.

Lebron James will definitely be a good player. He can't play bad when he can jump over everybody.

so why can't you play more than 2 high school all star games without forfeiting elligibility?
