"He believed he could guard me, I guess," James said after surpassing 30 points for the 16th time this season and ninth in December.

I know his team won and all, but how egotistical do you have to be to say that? :|

Doesn't sound bad to me at all. I have heard far more good things from Lebron than bad. Also, what he added made it sound a bit better:

"He believed his aggressiveness could make me do things that I don't do. I just tried to use that aggressiveness against him. It's a great battle. I like it."

not egotistical at all. if you watched the game, andres noicione got lit up. Couldn't stop James and he ended up fouling out (or had five fouls on James). LeBron abused him. Also, you failed to post the following quotes:

"He believed his aggressiveness could make me do things that I don't do. I just tried to use that aggressiveness against him. It's a great battle. I like it." (LeBron)

"I tried to defend him," Nocioni said. "It's hard because he's a great player. I think he's the best offensive player in the league and it's difficult for me and everybody."

James certainly turned up the intensity in the final quarter after exchanging glares and occasional words with Nocioni. Both complained to officials that the other was guilty of fouling.

I haven't really liked the NBA since the 1990's.... Their is way to much ego floating around the NBA, I haven't watched a game in probably 5 years or more and I love basketball..... I watch college basketball but, it is getting to be almost as bad and I dunno how much longer I'll even watch it....

I think one thing that many people fail to think of with professional sports, is that routing for a team is not much different than routing for a beer, a soda company, a graphics card company.....etc..... at least thats my opinion and I've loved sports since I was a kid....

he is probably the most down to earth player ever.

yes im a fan, but you pulled quotes out of context. hes a great player, knows how to lead the team, and knows how to pass the ball like no other.

didn't watch the game, but it sounds like frustration over what he perceived as dirty play.

I could see Shaq saying pretty much the same thing after a Hack-A-Shaq game.

wow

wow

wow

I continue to be amazed at how stupid some of the sports related posts in this forum are.

If you could take one NBA player, and hope that all other NBA players were as humble, thankful, respectful, and appreciative of what they have as this guy, the NBA would be such a better product...

and then you get some idiot taking a quote out of context and telling all his buddies "this LeBron guy is a d1ckhead"...it just boggles my mind

What would you want him to say?

There might be an opportunity for someone if they wrote a book and or taught a class on what an athlete should say to the media. How about starting a P.R. firm of athletes to manage the media.

Doesn't seem too egotistical to me if you read on to the next quote. It's out of context the way you've posted it.
