Is that number supposed to represent the number of championships you have once you add up his and MJ's?

Of course, wouldn't James or any other player get to chose his number if joined another team next season? So why the paperwork?

Bah. I hate typos.

Also, I'm getting kind of sick of hearing about this guy.

Odds are, he's pulling a Kobe - this will dramatically increase his jersey sales. Or he could be going to a team where 23 is retired ...

The guy expect people to pay to see a movie about him and he hasn't won anything yet. Please.

The teams with #23 retired:

Atlanta Hawks
Boston Celtics
Chicago Bulls
Houston Rockets
New Jersey Nets

The teams with #6 retired:
Boston Celtics
Philadelphia 76ers
Phoenix Suns
Sacramento Kings

If he wants to leave Cleveland, LeBron seems to have cleared that hurdle with the number switch.

It's gonna get a lot worse as his free agency get closer. Plus, he's one of the best (if not the best) players in the NBA. You better get used to hearing about him. For a long, long time.

Now that's funny.

Show me the rings... scoring titles? He has the potential to be one of the greatest players, right now, no.

Rings = worthless argument. He's the best player in the game at the moment.

Not sure why all the hate on this. He said many months ago that he was switching #'s. FYI - he didn't need to file a notice to change #'s unless he DOESN'T switch teams.

Just to throw a bit of fuel on the fire, LeBron doesn't need to file the paperwork with the league to switch his number if he's changing teams. He only needs to file it if he is staying with the same team.

After how he behaved when his team was booted by Magics last year - I realized he was just another MFin Ahole. So... LJ thread = epic fail

Same thing Kobe did. Same thing Peyton did in the Superbowl.

Wow, I didn't realize Luke Walton was better than LeBron. Thanks for clearing that up.

He was an immature douche to pick 23 to begin with. It was like in HS ball where everyone wanted 23 because it was Jordan's number.

all the high & mighties like to call out the championships and all that when you know damn well it takes an entire team and some luck along the way. People just argue he's the best player... he is the best player and that's that. BTW, I know nothing about basketball and that was a general statement about top athletes.
