Leaving the states tommorow...

Just finshed my master degree in ME and also did my bachelors in ME from the USA. I have lived here for the last six years and have loved every minute of it. Leaving it is making me very sad 🙁

congrats!

Remember, good ole' John McCarthy says:

If you so much as have a stamp from those Soviet bastards on your Passport, you can kiss having sex with your with in my virgin country goodbye you damn red!

From India but going back to Middle East. I tried finding a job but obtaining sponsorship is quite a hassle now-a-days.

That sucks. A good friend of mine was here for roughly the same amount of time but she had to go back to Japan. She says it's like living in a foriegn country after being in the states for so long. Good luck.

Agreed, funny thing is that I kinda disliked staying in the states initially. But once I got used to it, I would love to stay here for a long time.

I heard that they recently increased the H1B visa limit so that there's an extra 20,000 or so slots soley dedicated to people who received their graduate degrees in the US. Maybe you'll have an easier time finding sponsorship if you look now.

sorry to hear that, getting an H1b job has been hard lately, in CS/EE things are better as compared to other fields in Engineering I guess, all the best to you

did you just graduate?

dont you have like 1 years time to find a job (OPT), I think if you stick around and try to find someting, thngs might open up for you

True but I spend 4 months trying to find a job and did not get anything so I decided to leave. I dont think the 20000 slots will help a lot as the industry wanted more like 50000 slots.

Three words: marriage of convenience. 😀 Seeing as it's not gonna happen, good luck dude. Come back sometime for a visit (or a MoC!).

Apply to Molex in Chicago they always seem to be hiring
they have an Office in India as well that could be a gateway back to the US
