So I've been up in spokane for the last day or so, drove up yesterday from Salem, OR, saw Public Enemy last night at the Big easy, it was a good show, had a blast. I'm up here to check out the job corps center that is up here before I move to the area.

My cell battery gave out on me last night (I accidentally left it in navigation mode and it ate the battery for lunch) I'm heading to the verizon store right now to get a car charger for it.)

Spokompton is a beautiful city, I really enjoyed my time up here so if you get a chance defiantly (I can't spell definantily apparently please someone help me out here...) visit. If you live here, what a great town, I saw the sunset yesterday it was magnificent, it filled the sky with such a glorious red glow in my rear view mirror the view honestly took my breath away.

I'm driving back today hopefully the weather will cooperate, I know there is a big storm headed to the NW I'll be taking the Google Map Suggested route between the two so if you don't hear from me by tomorrow I didn't make it ;). I tell you this enlight of the Jame Kim story, I figure it best that at least a few people know where I am.

Next time I go through WA or when I move up here we should do an AnandTech get together/lan party, the ones I've been to in the past have been a blast.

See you down south soon :)

If anyone wants to talk on my long drive back my cell is 503.507.1271

i drove up there with my band to play a couple shows.

we all agreed that there was a 3 block square of nice town surrounded by miles of utter sh!t. everyone we talked to on the street were either meth/coke addicts or wanna-be emo hipsters. we pretty much wanted to kill ourselves. we were making jokes about hooking up with "toothless hussies" for weeks.

i will admit the sunsets were spectacular and the falls were amazing.

Grew up in Spokaloo...Left after Mt. St. Muthafvcker went off in 1980, and except for a short period after my father-in-law dies, haven't been back except for an occasional visit. Calling it SpoCompton probably has some accuracy...the crime rate there is getting pretty bad, (even see it on Cops all the time lately) and it's mostly drug related...

I agree that this time of year, some of the nice scenic backroads may not be your best choices...

Drive safely.

Hey, shoot me a PM next time you come through or when you move and we can get together. We should do a wine tasting day or something. :) Would love to meet you.

Ok, I'm back, the roads weren't horrible, but not great there were area's of heavy fog and sheet ice across the road, not a lot of fun but drivable without chains at a comfortable pace.

Yes Flava Flav was there in all his clock wearing glory, what a character but I did appriciate his message to the kids, school is #1, party all you want but don't let it get in the way of your eduction, nice to hear that from a guy with a giant pot leaf on his shirt.

I met with Colin in the Tri-cities area? (sorry forgot your board name (eek)) for linner (not quite lunch not quite dinner) was great to meet and talk to you next time I pass through town we'll have to meet up again.

I don't know what you guys are saying about downtown, I mean it's not great but at least it's not like parts of LA (good god LA is horrible in some places) We walked around downtown at midnight and it wasn't that bad I'm sure the later it gets in the night the worse it is but I didn't think it was as bad as Salem, maybe I just like the change in scenery. The mall is nice at least. There are defiantly area's that are bad though but you can steer clear if you know what to look for.
