I left my three boys (1,2 & 4) unattended for maybe 5-10 minutes while I took a dump. When I left them, they were in the playroom happily enjoying some quiet play. In my absence, the oldest decided to go sit on the pot. He got up without flushing and ran off naked. The other two decided to have a party in the bathroom. They decorated with toilet paper. Yes, THAT toilet paper. Some of it clogged the sink, which (of course) was running full blast.

The crime scene I encountered will have me having nightmares for weeks...

theyd set the house on fire, eventually, or just roam the neighborhood

i went to get the mail once and left my kids inside alone, they were playing and watching tv, i wasnt a full 5 minutes...i came back in and my son (About 2 at the time) had gotten my beard trimmer and shaved a line up the middle of his head (with longish hair for a boy)

i suggest using large cast iron balls and chains.

I'm tellin' ya, the best kid watch system is two harnesses, one bungee cord and, one large dog. You put one harness on the dog and one on the kid. Then you connect the two with the bungee cord. When ever you wonder what the kid is up to, you call the dog and the kid magically appears at the other end of the cord. Don't want the kid going anywhere? Tell the dog to 'stay.' Sleeping dogs also work well as an anchor. Tested and approved.

In my own house, I am fairly comfortable with the childproofing, but pretty much everywhere else I go with them, all I see is deathtraps.

I'm surprised I never did get seriously injured as a a kid. Even supervised my brother and I found creative ways of testing the limits.

Our kids are usually pretty good. They're 2 1/2 and almost 4, they know not to touch my computer, the tv, things like that. On weekends they wake up on their own and play on their computer (which is locked so it only goes to certain websites like Nickjr.com) until we get up.

I'm sort of the same, but not for the same reasons. Like I said, my kids aren't likely to get killed (although the younger would walk into traffic if we let her), but I'm more worried about them messing up someone else's house, or being a bother to people. So I watch them constantly to make sure they don't get too worked up and go crazy.
