For some reason, I hate leaving messages on voicemails and such, I find it to be extremely annoying. I can't think of anything specific, I just don't like it. I always felt it was very impersonal, and you really can't get in everything you wanted to say. Usually when the voicemail message comes on, I'll hang up and try again later... but not this time. 😱
While my story involves a girl, I do not consider this a YAGT. I'm not asking for advice, I just wanted to share a story.
About 10 minutes ago, I was calling a friend of mine I knew from school. There is nothing between us, just friends. Shes pretty hot (sry, no pics), and I would DHITB, but I havn't really thought of her that way. I'd date her, but never really considered it, simply because she was just never the kind of girl I would see myself with. Though if she was interested, I would consider it, but thats a different story.
We call each other every once and a while, once every week two, and we chit chat for a couple of minutes, then wait till a week or two, then another chitchat session. We always say "If you want to hang out sometime, call me up and lemme know", but we always put it off and only chitchat. So the other day, I was thinking we never hung out, so I might as well give it a shot, you know, come up with a real meeting.
So... I give her a call, and what do you know, she is busy, and I get her voice mail. So, I had no idea what I wanted to say, espically in that short period of time the voicemail gives you. So I quickly try to come up with something.
I start to leave the message, and I begin to stutter, repeating stuff I just said a few seconds ago, and just plain ramble on about nothing, going everywhere except where I wanted it to go. I have no idea why it occured, I wasn't exactly nervous about asking her to go out somewhere, just I had no idea what to say off the top of my head. I wonder what she will be thinking when she answers her voicemail, haha.
It might not sound that bad, but thats on her voice mail for her to listen to eventually, and I know she'll hear it. She'll probally find it as funny as I did, except her laughter is at my own expense. Ahhh, the joys of college life. Now I don't even know what to say about that when she calls back.
Of course, looking back on it, I should have just told her to call me back so we could talk *smacks forehead*.
