Yes it took me 10 years to finally watch this movie in full... and I must say while it's obviously meant to be powerful and dramatic, I can't agree it did much for me in terms of emotion. People are naming this one of the most realistic representations of what someone goes through yet I can't feel it from a movie. Maybe if I knew some alcoholics or hookers, I could, but it doesn't hit home. Is it supposed to anyway ? Perhaps I'm too sheltered.

It was slow from beginning to end... that's what I really got out of it.

^ that I can agree with, though she aged beyond her prime and we all missed it.

EDIT> Wow she's 42. She was already 22 when she played Daniel-san's gf in Karate Kid.

Elizabeth Shue ... yummers

agreed

in terms of hitting home, hitting your heart, blah blah- it didn't do that for me, more or less it was just f'ed up.

The film is made as a story told by the hooker. Where's she sitting while telling it? Hospital? Police station?

Elizabeth really should have done more nudity in her younger years...
She was playing with herself in a scene in the Trigger Effect. I had an Elisabeth Shue week thru Blockbuster.
