leave ps3 on all day?

Is it ok to leave a PS3 slim on all day when I am at work, so it can download etc?

Sure, just make sure you don't have the auto power off turned on. I think there is even a setting that will turn it off when the download is finished. Or it will only power off if a download isn't occurring.

I'd only do it when downloading -- as dust builds up inside the fan will run more, so it will be louder overall.

How is that a 'PS3 owns' argument? The 360 does the exact same thing. I have mine set up to not turn fully off until all downloads are finished then it turns itself off.

Thankfully the PS3 has a very quick bootup, so powering down when not in use isn't much of an inconvenience. Personally, I just don't like excess fan noise (yes, i know its quiet when idle but not as quiet as 'off').
