Leave MB to sit with CPU installed?

My question: I have decided to leave a MB (w/ CPU, RAM installed) on top of the shielded bag that the MB came in and inside a dresser drawer where nothing can get at it. Is it dangerous to leave the MB unplugged for 24-48 hours with CPU installed, ie due to static buildup, etc?

Why am I doing this? The details:

----

I'm building a computer for a relative and ordered an ATX case (Rosewill Challenger) and GA ATX MB (970A-D3P) from Newegg. I've only built a few times, and have run into a new issue:

Despite the claim that the case is ATX, the Rosewill Challenger is missing a MB screw hole in the worst place. Here is the positioning of the mounting screws on the MB:

__x____x__R__
__________A__
__________M__
x______x___ x_<-------------- Missing screw hole.
_____________
_____________
x______x_____

Where x's are screws. There is only a single screw on the right side of the board in the middle, and it is that screw hole that is missing. I could install the MB without it, but then the RAM would be floating in space, which means if my relative ever needed to swap them out they would either (a) need to put force on the MB in a way that could break the board in half, given that there is no mount under that side of the MB, or (b) disassemble the entire computer and take out the MB just to change the RAM. I think that mount screw needs to be there.

I could send the case back, but I think it is easiest (in time) just to tap the screw myself. I have the equipment to tap it at work. However, a major snow storm just started in my area and it is no longer safe to drive. The storm is likely to be over tomorrow.

Now to my question - I didn't realize the missing screw problem until after I had installed the RAM, CPU, and Heatsink/paste onto the MB. Thus I have decided to leave the MB (w/ CPU, RAM installed) on top of the shielded bag that the MB came in inside a dresser drawer where nothing can get at it. Is it dangerous to leave the MB unplugged for 24-48 hours with CPU installed, ie due to static buildup etc?

If it's just the stock heat sink everything might fit back inside the antistatic bag (I've done that when a build was interrupted). Even if this is not the case, nothing bad should happen as the MoBo is not plugged into anything and simple component installation doesn't cause any issues. The only thing to take care of is preventing a 'lot' of dust get onto the board.

Thanks Alan. It's not the stock, very tall and wouldn't fit back in the bag else I definitely would have put it back in.

Trim a rubber foot from something else to fit under the board. Some cases even came with them.
