Nope, don't waste your money.

512MB RAM on your laptop should be just right.

I doubt your laptop is freezing because of the lack of RAM.

I would trouble shoot it to find the cause.

Or get a better OS (especially if you're using Win98 or WinME).

Or do a fresh clean install, updating all drivers/firmware.

It's just a guess as I've never used a TV card in my desktop or laptop.

But 512MB RAM seems like plenty, however I could be wrong.

Nah, more likely caused by crappy tv tuner drivers/software. I've yet to see a TV tuner (internal or external) that not too buggy.

I have an ATI TV wonder PCI card in my desktop, I only have 384 megs of RAM, and I'm using Xp pro. I surf the web and watch TV often, and i rarely have problems. The TV tuner software was crappy, until ATI released media center version 7.9. Since i've been using that i havent had any problems at all....You may want to update the drivers, or reinstall the OS.

You may have to email ATI...or search for an ATI fansite. I remember when I had a TV Wonder, they were bitches about handing out drivers/software.

Lack of RAM is not causing your machine to freeze.

Most likely the TV drivers are.

you know i hate that if i have to reinstall everything..
because laptop comes with the image cd and there are lots of things
that i don't need..i will have to uninstall them manually..
and then have to put things back that i need .. takes long time
