Does anyone has any insight on leather furniture.

I am looking to buy some leather furniture. I am currently interested in a Thomasville Sectional.

Does anyone have an opinion on the quality of leather that Thomasville uses?

This is what I am looking at:

I don't have Thomasville but I just recently purchased an italian leather sofa and loveseat and love it. The quality is outstanding, and I will always buy leather furniture in the future. Also according to the salesman leather will last up to 5 times as long as fabric upholstered furniture.

Thomasville has good stuff. Check out Natuzzi if you can find a dealer around you. Better leathers typically come from areas with colder climates.

I learned something watching TV this week: Full-grain leather is better than Top-grain leather.

I have a Natuzzi couch and chair/ottoman - very high quality and very comfortable. I would definitely buy their products again.

This store has a ranking of leather manufacturers.

Currier's Leather

You're very close to Bradington-Young manufacturing. In fact you're near the heart of furniture manufacturing in the U.S.

Of course it is. Full-grain leather is the entire thickness of the hide. Top-grain is the upper half, or outer half, of the hide.

You find nice leather sofas pretty cheap really. Just look at the frame thickness (lift up the couch this tells you weight, then grab the rail under the front) and the leather thickness. Also, make sure its 100% leather, not just "all leather where you sit."

I have a leather Natuzzi sofa, chair, and ottoman and am quite pleased with them. I've gotten compliments on how comfortable they are from several guests.
