LEARNING to play the game of GOLF..

Hey guys,

I've never received any form of training for golf... only messed around w/ miniature golf every now and then... but nowadays I need to pick up the sport for career advancements.

I am curious as to what are some website that are good to peruse around w/ ... and what sort of equipment would be idea for extreme beginners...

Is this something I can try to pick up on my own by just playing w/ a friend who knows golf? Or should I invest in an instructor?

Thanks!

invest in an instructor, take some privite lessons, and just play, the more you play the better you will get

=)

Thanks for the advice... I figured it'd be good to get it right the first time anyways 🙂

Is there a popular instructor or type of school that would offer the best lessons?

get a set of custom clubs made so you don't mess up your swing with clubs that don't fit right. knock offs of major brands can be pretty inexpensive.

Take 1 lesson from a competent instructor so they can teach you the proper form. Spend the rest of your time on a driving range practicing that form...that's how you get better.

That's an interesting reason to pick up golf 🙂 I never played golf (went to the driving range once...sucked horribly) and have no real desire to, but something tells me I should for the same reason

Here it is necessary that you know how to play golf, everyone plays. Go get an instructor, and get some good clubs.

You can just hire the instructor at the driving range, that should be fine enough. Afterwards, try to hit the range at least three times a month or even once a week.

I can imagine the price of an instructor... is there any recommendations as to where to begin looking for one? Are they cheaper at driving ranges? I'm in the Southern California area... if anybody has any experience around that locale 😉

Thanks
