Learning to play piano

Does anyone have any links to free online sheet music for beginner songs on piano? I've been playing for a whole 2 days.

I would get a series of student books like you'd get if you take lessons with a teacher. It's just a volume of books you progress through that teach you different things and improve your skills. Without something structured like that you're just kind of stabbing in the dark and at risk to develop poor technique.

I'm not completely unstructured. I'm taking an online music theory class through a local college, but it's like there was this massive jump from determining what note was on the staff to playing two-handed melodies with different length notes.

get a piano instructor.... practicing is a pain and you'll need lots of *Consistent* motivation to play well

You need to learn proper technique, how to read music, and other things that really require a good teacher. Even after playing for years I'd not notice common mistakes until they were pointed out to me. A good instructor is very valuable.

I don't really have the money to hire an instructor.

Then I suggest going to a music store that sells instructional books. I know you'd like to get right on to playing good sounding music, but you need to lay a good foundation. Someone at the store should be able to help you find a good book to start on.

I used 'Teach Me Piano' for a while, it seemed pretty good, the interface was cheesy (boo 640x480) but that doesn't really matter i guess. I should try it out again. The thing i didn't like about it is that is that it went from simple to hard pretty quick at one point. Practice makes perfect though, right?...Well, probably not perfect.
