Learning to drive...

Have you ever helped someone learn to drive?

A friend of mine, who is well beyond the age to drive (22) does not have a driver's license and I offered her to teach her to drive. Was this a bad move? 🙂

Also, if we drive in an empty parking lot at night, a cop wouldn't give us any problems since she wouldn't have a permit or anything? It's been a while since I did the whole 'getting my license' thing... to get a permit you just have to pass the written exam, right?

i'd have her atleast get the permit before you teach her how to drive.

She's from another country (Ecuador), but can speak pretty good English. Are there books on how to pass these exams?

Permit test should be a peace of cake and if you can't pass that, you really don't deserve a drivers license (Illinois test here).

DMV gives out booklets you study from.
It's really all common sense.

as the poster above said. If she can't pass this exam, she shouldn't be driving.

Florida DMV should have a booklet with the info on what would be on the permit test - shapes of signs, white and yellow lines, etc.

I sure wouldn't be in the car with her if she didn't have a permit. (Legally speaking, even if she can drive OK.)

Thanks for the help... I'll make sure she gets one of those booklets and gets a permit. She's smart so I'm sure she won't have a problem with it.
