While in a hurry, accidently picked up the red hat enterprise edition instead of the regular linux pocket guide. shall return it and get the linux pocket guide or is this about the same?

is it an oreilly book? because i have the oreiily pocket guide and its based on fedora...so they may be about the same book 🙂

either way, as far as basic tools and usage, nothing is going to vary enough to trouble yourself

yes its an O'Reilly book. their database said they had 2 versions, Linux Pocket Guide and Linux pocket guide redhat enterprise fedora and linux. guess ill stick with redhat version and learn the basics.

Will d/l centOS when i get the chance.

Fedora 10 is beautiful, especially if you're running R300-R500 era Radeons. Plymouth is amazing.

OTOH, nvidia drivers are being uncooperative atm. I'll let you know if I have any luck.

Do you have any questions about F10 I might be able to answer for you?
