Has anyone had experience with the Berlitz ear worms language series? I was recommended the japanese one. i'm going to be mainly using it in the car when driving to/from work.

i read up on it and the technique is interesting,

Simply listen to the music CD filled with rhythmic repetitions a few times and the sound patterns will get to deeper levels of memory. Listeners will subconsciously acquire a collection of verbs, nouns and connecting words, all the while picking up the correct accent. Effortless, enjoyable, fast and effective language learning through music. Stimulating and self motivating through tangible rapid progress. Linguistic material that is presented in such a way as to make difficult structures easy to grasp for the learner. Upload it to Ipod or other MP3 players for use on the go.

My dad likes to learn spanish on his free time, so i was thinking this would be a nice cheap gift for him if it's decent.

My fiancee picked up the Spanish version of that. We've played it while lifting weights about a half dozen times. I'd say the whole thing is mildly pleasant, although some sections really get on your nerves.
Neuve. Neuve. Think, there is no audio visual on channel 9. No AV on Channel nine. No AV. Neuve. Neuve on channel 9.
Each time that section comes up, I just about gag. But, I do remember it. I also remember how to order tea with milk (yuck and when would I ever really need to do that?) So, yes, some of it does stick effortlessly. However, there is virutally no content. You'll need to purchase dozens of their expensive MP3s to really know much of anything. If they even make dozens that is.

I think all I got from their first MP3 was how to count (which I already knew in Spanish), how to get some transportation, and a few useless meal words.
