Learning how to setup home theater audio

Does this class sound like it would help me if im interested in learning how to setup the audio system/layout for a home theater?

PHYS 215 Physics of Sound and Music (3)

Wave nature of sound. Musical instruments and production of sound, overtones and tone quality, musical scales, decibels and noise hazards. Speech and hearing. Recording and reproduction of sound. Electronic instruments and synthesizers. Room acoustics. 3 lectures. Prerequisite: PHYS 104 or PHYS 122 or PHYS 132 or PSC 101 or consent of instructor.

probably not, particularly because it does not conclude the description with "in a room"

learning harmonics and stupid oscillations probably won't help you much
go find someone who does it for a living, and get advice etc

Should be fun, sounds like your general introduction into audio physics, something you'd take in a music school for studio or reproduction work.

"Room acoustics"

Although, setting it up isnt terribly difficult for home applications. Now, setting up large scale setups is a WHOLE different ballgame (Uber high end home, church, theater etc) But, they make software which can measure and adjust for the room acoustics. Its a pretty sweet thing, although I personally havent had the opportunity to use it.
