Hi. I've got some programing experiance (read: almost none) with lots of BASIC experiance and some PASCAL (I've forgotten almost all the PASCAL). I think I'd like to get started again by learning C++. Can anyone give me some suggestions to books or sites that would be good to start with? Thanks.

That C++ Primer book by Lipman is supposed to be the best C++ book ever made. Professors, professionals, bosses and other people always recommend that book. I recommend it too.

The C++ Primer might be a little heavy for a beginner. By all means grab it as a second book.

Also got the same book, u might want to check your local BestBuy store.. i got it the other week for $9 and it was brand new.

They usually have some pretty good books in their Comp Books shelf... most are just "how to use windows" kinda books but there are times better books like the Lippman one gets mixed in the pack.
