and months ago, i thought i could replace my aging wacom tablet with a leapmotion.

It's not going to make your computer the touch screen you think it is. There really is no good app for that yet. Although I think a really good one should be coming out this week. You'll have the ability to tie gestures to certain keys, making it a lot easier.
