if what al michaels read was accurate, they made the right call.

if you are more than a certain distance from the line of scrimmage, get a running start, leap and land on someone (your team or theirs) then you are guilty of "leaping"

that's the rule paraphrased that al michaels read.

simeon did all of those things, hence he broke the rule

bucs got screwed by biased refs... period.
Did ya happen to notice roughing the kicker call before that??? That was horseshit if I ever saw it. Indy's player was laying still on the ground and Tupa fell over him!
did you happen to see that bs roughing the passer call before that?!?

How was that BS? It was clear that Sapp could've stopped if he wanted to but he chose otherwise. I wouldn't expect any less from that POS, the dirtiest of them all.

that' was sapp at his worst and the reason why he has a bad rap. he does stupid things like that. he went helmet to helmet against payton and knocked him down, ANY official in the NFL would have called that.

the player Rice made contact with on his way down was pushed there by a Colt blocker, Rice wasn't trying to jump over him, which is what the intent of the rule is designed to prevent - bad call imo.

Sapp clearly hit Manning late.

Walker's penalty gave the Colts at least 40 seconds extra to work with at the end of regulation.

Gruden let the game get away from him, and the Buc's players were clearly thinking the game was over too soon.

actually, the rule is trying to prevent players from hurting their own teammates by stepping on them, using them as a launching pad and leaping in the air. unfortunately the way it's worded what he did was against the rules.

It's like the NBA--One bad call to make up for a previous bad call :p Oh well--as long as that ref enforces the rule consistently. Anyone know how many times the leaping penalty have been called in the past on FG attempts??

BTW, I root for the Buccs, but it was great to watch Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy engineer an amazing comeback! This will teach the Buccs that they must pile it on even with a big lead.
