I recently purchased the Terk wavemaster 20 A/V wireless transmitter. INFO. Thinking that I could hook up my cable to it and transmit the signal to my PC that has a TV tuner card. I asked the salesman at Bestbuy (I know, salespeople are idiots) if this thing would transmit the signal and if it had RF ouput and input and he said yes. I take it home and this thing will only transmit from an RCA source, NOT and RF source. It does have an RF out only for old tvs I guess but I cannot plug my coax (RF) cable into it so therefore I cant transmit to my PC and just use my pc tuner to switch channels. So my question is this. I plan to get a y splitter for the cable, one part goes into my TV as i dont have a cable box and want to use the other connetor for the transmitter, BUT, is there some gadget I could get that that has a RF in to RCA Video/Audio so that I can transmit the RF signal to my PC thereby allowing me to use my tvtuner card and change channels? Confused? So am I. I may be wording this wrong. Please feel free to correct me as I am only on my 3rd cup of coffee and need at least 6 cups to be fully coherent. Thanks.

yes there is, it's called a VCR

a vcr can take in RF and if you change channels on the VCR you can use it's RCA video outs to drive the wireless transmitter. you won't be able to use the tv cards's remote, you'll have to use the VCR's remote.

I know this, this is exactly my problem. I WANT to change the tvtuner channels on my pc, not watch what the vcr is displaying.

i hear ya, but unfortunately there's no way around it (other than buying some wireless RF transmitters)

whenever you drive your tv card with the RCA in, there's no "channels" to speak of anyway...you just choose the input and it displays whatever is at the input...only way to change the input is to change channels on the vcr.
