***CONFIRMED*** ;)

Basically, nVidia's global market share for PC chipsets (nForce) is supposedly between 6-8%. Because nVidia only sells AMD chipsets, that would mean they have 6-8% of the entire Socket A market (which is ~ 20%).

The Inq also claims that NVidia will announce that they have a grand total of 66% of the "graphics card market", which I assume is the stand alone graphics card market (The Inq didn't specify whether it was in the U.S. or worldwide).

Yeah, seems off.

Btw, where did you read that (I can't remember at the moment)? I would expect that kind of nForce market share in the coming months (considering nForce has got CPQ, HP, MicronPC, etc.), but it seems premature at this point...

nVidia will not report it's results tomorrow, so Inquirer is full of sh1t, as usual. Unless they talking about earnings pre-announcement, in which case they are two days late.

That was before Compaq and HP deals.
