This footage is from a pre-alpha build, something Crytek stated to be missing textures, animations, effects, etc. and is more of a stable, stripped down build being used to test their netcode for xbox live multiplayer. A few hundred people where given a build to run on their xbox so they could join the test.

Considering the game is nowhere near (speculation ofc) finished and polishing will happen much later in development, I wouldn't take how it looks without a grain of salt. You are right, however, about the limited power on consoles when compared to higher end PCs. Another thing to consider is price. For $200 I can get either a 5850 or an Xbox360.

i'd point out that the guy playing didn't barely scratch the surface with what can be done with that suit and the gameplay options. he was just running around and yea, it was somewhat boring to watch. i think once people learn how to play it and get good with it, the gameplay footage will be much more exciting.

that is exactly what i felt playing Crysis Warhead (the only Crysis I've played).

felt very generic and just not fun.

for what it's worth, the people making the multiplayer component is made from the bulk of the team that did GoldenEye007 and TimeSplitters.

Even something simple as some background noises would be an improvement. They're on a rooftop, so why not some wind, or maybe traffic, something.

I have nothing wrong with the graphics or anything like that, it just seemed very generic and doesn't bring anything new to the table. Granted it was a short video, but I just doubt that I will really care that much about this. Especially since EA is the publisher so I will have to buy it new or spend some money if I get it used.

It is an FPS, what were you expecting? It is basically an arcade shooter with armor abilities. Sound familiar? Because it is...

Hopefully, it will look amazing and be a little fun on PC.

No, I know what you are saying. But if they don't do anything that just looks amazing they aren't going to sell. And it sounds a lot like Halo, and you aren't going to get the Halo crowd to abandon their game when Crysis just doesn't look amazing. Plus, like I said, with EA publishing alot of people will not give it a chance because of the $10 fee if you don't buy new.

The first Crysis wasn't that groundbreaking in gameplay. t had some good physics effects but nothing groundbreaking. What made it was how good it looked. Three years later and hardly any games have surpassed it's graphics.

Trailer looks decent. I am kind of intrigued by the "options" line because it may actually have multiple routes and not just be a run and gun game.
